14 Types of Single People and Songs That Fits Them

Happy SAD! Are you celebrating “Singles Awareness Day” this year? Well you’re not alone, according to survey, more than half of online networking sites users are single people, which I believe is true, just look within your circle of friends, how many of them are actually single and how many are taken? The numbers are almost equal right? So you don’t have to pout that pretty lips and sit at the corner this Valentines Day, besides, I believe that Valentines’ Day is just a way of torturing single people by making them feel bad about being alone.

Anyway, here are some songs for you to enjoy this Singles Awareness Day, just decide on what type of single person you are from the following list. Be honest.

The Happy and Independent = those who decided to be alone but not lonely. It’s either they have other priorities in life than having a love life, or they just don’t feel that they need another person to make them happy or to make their life complete. These people are single by choice and not by faith. They enjoy the single life to the fullest.

I’m talking about serious people who just came from a deep relationship here, not just those who can move on easily because they can’t spend two minutes of their life without a boyfriend/girlfriend.

The Bitter - Those whose hearts got trashed, people who were left by their partner for either another person or for some space.  It’s either those two or their partners are just a big waste of human tissue who doesn’t deserve to be loved, and the sad part is, they still did love them. Because of this, they are doing everything they could to get back to the person who hurt them, and most of the time they rely on the internet to do it. I hope there is a website made specifically for just bitter people so I’m not forced to read their update status on my facebook feed.

The Self Torturer = those who are in love with someone who doesn’t love them back. Most of the time, these people are in love with their closest friends, and their friend is in love with someone else. Ouch. What a pretty way to hurt yourself. Sometimes though, these are those who ruined their chances of being with someone by announcing to everybody that they like that person. Not a very smart move was it?

The Frozen Hearted – those who’s been hurt badly before, and that promised to never love again. They focus on other things, try to keep themselves busy. Their idea of love is a lie, an illusion made to make them cry. So they’ll never love again, not as long as their alive. Wow, that’s deep.

The Emotionally Single – they are in a relationship, but they are not different from single people. Yes, they have a better half, but they are not in love anymore or were never in love at the first place. They celebrate Valentine’s Day but at the end of the day, they are single people pretending to have each other, just for the sake it.

The Choosey –They are ready but they are not looking for someone desperately. Steady lang, just taking it slow. They can live normally even without having a love life. But if someone comes along, they would still entertain them, only if the person fits their standards of course.

Top 4: Songs From Glee (Part 2)

In honor of Glee’s win at the Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards, here is the second list of the best songs from the first season of Glee.

4. On My Own  - This song is one of the most memorable songs from Les Miserables and everyone who’s given a chance to sing this will surely shine, so Lea Michelle is very lucky to have given that chance. I like Lea Salonga’s version better but the other Lea did a good job as well; I like her performance, aside from the way she pronounced “Happiness” at the end of the song.

3. I Say A Little Prayer – What would a blond cheerleader who is the President of the Christ Crusaders (aka Celibacy Club) sing in an audition? Something to do with Prayers of course, match this performance with two backup dancers /singers (ala Beyonce), add an awesome choreography, and you’ll have an instant classic. This performance also got a lot of very funny parodies.

2. It’s My Life / Confessions Pt II – This is the mash-up song for the guys, the counterpart of the girl's mash-up of Halo and Walking on Sunshine. This is the best group performance by the guys to date.  The two songs mashed up brilliantly. I personally think that mashed-up songs are what separated Glee from the rest of mediocre musicals. It’s a very great idea and I wish they would do it again on the new season.

1. My Life Would Suck Without You – The finale song, Glee is very good on using songs that have lyrics that completely matches or summaries the whole situation and can merge down a million lines of dialogues into one song.  I can’t think of any song that can be best used to end the first season and can match that big kiss. It’s perfect, just PERFECT!

I can’t wait for the new season to premiere.

Oh Glee, my life would definitely suck without you.

The 10 Buzzwords for 2010 That You Must Know

My take on Spot.ph's list of The 10 Buzzwords you ought to know in 2010. I can use these words everyday! But first, I'm gonna practice using them in a sentence here on my blog just so we can be clear on their meanings.


Microcelebrity (Micro + Celebrity) = It's pretty much self explanatory, they are celebs whose popularity is caused by an overwhelming respond from internet users.

example: You are the best Microcelebrity who ever existed in the world wide web. I <3 U!

Ecocrite (Eco + Hypocrite) = The word that best describes those celebrities who encourages us to live a green eco friendly life when they themselves are not even doing it. I hate these people, they are very, uhm... what's the word? Plastic, oh no, Ecocrite.

example: Being a spokeperson for Greenpeace and at the same time driving a not so eco-friendly car (and crashing it on a tree) makes you an ecocrite!

Chubuff (Chubby + Buff) = Are those toned muscles or contracted fats? When he is standing, he has big shoulders, when he is sitting, he has a big tummy.  So is he chubby, or is he buff? He's neither, he's chubuff.

example: Aga Muhlach was very chubby before he became buff, but I saw him lately and he is getting chubuff again, or was that just Nino Muhlach I saw?

Wallgasm (Facebook Wall + Orgasm) = When your facebook wall is full of those pics, links, posts, tags messages, and a lot of different things going on at once, then you are having a wallgasm. A facebook user is said to have the greatest wallgasm during his birthday, but I know a lot of people who has them everyday. Oh k... that's not sounding right anymore.

example: Me and my online fling are exchanging comments on facebook the other night, it reached to almost 1,000, that was the best wallgasm ever.

For The First Time, Prada Goes Live Online

Prada has joined the digital world by broadcasting their Fall-Winter 2010 Menswear Collection online yesterday. Thank goodness for this! I don't have to wait for my Garage Magazine to come to see their latest collection. Most of the major houses right now offer live streaming of their fashion shows, I hope Philippine Fashion Week will do the same.

Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock Tie for Best Actress

The Critic's Choice Award for Best Actress this year was given to Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia) and Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side). Winning Best Actress alongside Meryl Streep is not the best thing an actress would wish for, it's  like telling you that you're a good actress, but not good enough to beat the queen.

So how did Sandra took it? by delivering a very heartfelt speech.  "Bullshit!" said Sandra as she kissed Ms. Streep full on the mouth. "I bet you never saw this coming" she says after.

Wow, what a classic moment, Oh! I love the award show season.

Nikki Gil to star in the Pinoy version of "Legally Blonde: The Musical"

It's not just one of those photoshopped picture that was made for fun, it's true, Atlantis Productions will present the Philippine verion of the movie-turned-musical in June 2010 at the Meralco Theater. I know what you're asking right now, what were they thinking right? An asian Elle Woods? Haha! What the heck? And for Nikki Gil to accept the part? So embarrassing, she made it all the way to being a Disney star to playing a role that's making her look like a third world cousin of Barbie. This is wrong. So wrong! Haha.

The little girl with no front teeth is now a lady, and she's making her Fashion magazine debut by gracing the cover of Vogue Magazine. I've always liked Dakota and always wished that she'll turnout to be a graceful young women, and thankfully, she had. Well, at least so far. Check out this photo from Vogue.

Victoria Beckham is too skinny for American Idol

They say the reason why Posh was not chosen by Fox Executives to be Paula Abdul's replacement in American Idol is because she's too skinny for American audiences and that people might find it hard to relate to her cause of her weight and they might not understand her accent.

Uhm.., Seriously? I honestly believe that this is unfair since, I mean, it's "Paula Abdul's" replacement we're talking here, what standards do we have? At the first place, Paula should be considered too small for American audiences  and I'm finding it very hard to understand what she's saying irregardless of her accent.  I'm not saying Posh is a great judge since I don't find her sincere and she's trying to be too sweet, but rejecting her because she looks anorexic is intolerable.

Vice Ganda is the new Petrang Kabayo

Viva Films will remake the Roderick Paulate starrer this year.and it will be directed by Wenn Deramas.
“Petrang Kabayo” is about a gay who is cursed to become a horse by the goddesss of horses because of his bad behavior. And who else can better portray such role than a person who suffered the same consequences? I'm a little excited about this movie, I find Vice very funny and smart, two characteristics that not all comediennes can have at the same time. I sure will be watching this.

Top 4: Most Memorable 2009 Moments in Pinoy INTERVIEWS

4. TV Patrol's Interview with Hayden Kho's Mother - maganda ang intention ng interview, Hayden's camp wanted to clean Hayden's image and gain sympathy by showing that he was raised by a very religious mother who's suffering because people are judging her son by the Sex Videos he made. They made sure that they were able to show how religious Mrs. Irene Kho is, by showing a Groto in the background and making her hold a Rosary and quote the Bible.

 However, they were a lot of things that drew people's attention away from the message that they were trying to send, isa na dun ay ang paulit-ulit na re-assurance ni Mrs. Kho na "ayaw na niyang magsalita", when in fact, Karen Davilla even needs to call her attention several times before she would stop talking and let Karen ask her a question. Also,  Mrs. Kho had her eyes close thoughout the interview, which made people think that she was just sleep talking. The inteview just added damage to Hayden's image and ended up having Hayden do an interview to explain what his Mother did.


3. Carlo J. Caparas with Che Che Lazaro - "Comics King" Carlo Caparas wanted to defend his National Artist Award for Visual Arts and Films by going on Che Che Lazaro's show and having a debate with Alex Tioseco and Dr. Jose Dalisay Jr.. His points was clear, dapat daw siyang maging National Artst for VISUAL ARTS and FILM dahil kilala ang kanyang mga obra sa buong bansa at dahil marunong daw siya gumuhit (which he proved by bringing his illustrations with him).

 But Mr. Caparas made the interview so personal by turning the issue back to him and by throwing personal attacks to the other guests. He even made it worst by defending the President from her ditractors, and by bashing the Elite society (some of which are his neighbors on their home in Ayala Alabang) and claiming that he passed the NCCA screening, which he did not. The conferment of the Natl Artists Award for Carlo and 6 others was blocked by the Supreme Court last August.

Poll Result: What Most People Want This Christmas

I ran a poll on 8 different websites by asking a simple question: "What's on top of your Xmas list?" And surprisingly, "World Peace", the most common answer, got beaten on the top spot by a very unusual entry.

The Material Things

Photography is one of the most popular hobbies this year, making Digital Camera the most requested item this season, followed by Laptops and Cellphones, which means the obsession with tweeter and facebook are going to stay around for awhile.

But some people doesn't really care about gadgets, they just wanna look good, that's why designer shoes and bags comes in the next spot.

The Classic Answers

Ofcourse, the classic "Good Health" and "Family Time" was still included on the lsit by some, but not everybody likes "World Peace" anymore, it just came in second compared to this year's most wished thing, a solid and happy "Love Life".

Yup, almost everybody is asking for somebody to love them this Christmas. It might be because of that cold weather, which makes you long for someone to embrace you and do all that mushy "sitting in front of the fireplace" kind of stuff with you. Or maybe because they've been single for a long time, I really don't know the exact reason but one thing's for sure,  Santa will be needing some help from Cupid this season.

Fashion: What NOT To Wear On Christmas Parties

Ever since we were kids, Christmas parties has become the ultimate opportunity for us to wear our new clothes and to show off our fashion sense. But some people still get lost when choosing what to wear during this occasion, it's either they are used to their parents buying clothes for them for their xmas parties or they just don't have any idea what a "Party Dress" really is. Here's a list of things to avoid to help you avoid ending up in the fashion jail.

Too Much Glitz - The christmas decors are glittery enough, please don't try to outshine them. Avoid wearing too much accessories or clothes that have a lot of shiny things going on. A Lady Gaga inspired jacket is an excuse, but otherwise, If you like to go for something bright, wear a silky dress instead. Remember to let your personality shine, not your outfit.

 

The Red-Green Color Combination - Yes, we get it, it's Christmas and you want to blend in with the Christmas spirit, but that doesn't mean you have to blend in with the decorations as well. Instead of wearing this color combo, try wearing just one of the two or go for earth toned colors to achieve that classic holiday look.

Christmas Sweaters - One word, UGLY. The greeting signs and those reindeers, christmas trees and other christmas designs should be left on the Greeting Card and not on your clothes. If you want to add a christmas character to your get up (which I don't recommend) you can put them on your accessories instead.

Short Shorts + Slippers - You're going to a party not to the sari-sari store, you don't wanna be underdressed. Before going to a party, make sure you know what the dress code is. Otherwise, you'll end up overdressing or underdressing. If you're not sure about the dress code, go safe by wearing the ever classic LBD for girls or a black button-down shirt for men.

Colored Socks and White Socks - I can't believe people still wear white socks nowadays.  The MJ fever is up but this ain't a halloween party so you don't really need to look like him. And stay away from the colored ones as well, you don't wanna look like santa's elf. When it comes to socks, if it ain't black, it ain't right.

Statement Shirts - When going to parties, you might wanna avoid wearing something that you wear on an ordinary day. Statement shirts can be cool but they are not appropriate for such events. Leave those statements on your facebook wall instead.

Top 4: Common Xmas Gifts That Are Cool Again

There was a time that these gifts became so common that nobody wants to receive them anymore. But with some twists, these classic items are making a comeback on the Christmas shopping list.

4. Picture Frames - According to my survey, 9 out of 10 teenagers are camwhores, and the other 1 is the one taking the picture.  With that being said, one of the coolest gifts this xmas would be a picture frame, a digital picture frame that is.

With a digital picture frame, you can store pictures and videos directly from your digicam or cellphone and display them on your bedroom or living room for your guest to see. It's a little expensive, but it can save you a lot on printing and buying photo albums and those boring picture frames. Make it a special gift for that camwhore friend of yours, uhm, that'll be you.

3. Books - It's square, it's heavy and it requires a lot of time from you, there was a time when recieving a book for Christmas feels like getting homeworks from your teacher.

But has changed, with all the fascination about books turning into movies and vice versa, this generation is way addicted to reading books than any other generation in the past 40 years. Suddenly, the term bookworm doesn't sound so nerdy anymore. So give that library enthusiast a special book this xmas, but just a tip, when buying books, make sure the person you're giving it to hasn't read it yet.

2. Towels - The favorite regalo of the Ninong and Ninangs, with your name espcially embroidered on them, baka daw kasi magkapalit kayo ng twalya ng isa nilang inaanak. What's with giving people towels as a present? It's like saying "Ang baho mo, punasan mo nga yang pawis mo. Kadiri."

But thanks to the creative minds of some people, towels are now cute and "yummy" again. yes, yummy.  Towels that are designed like fruitcake, chocolates and even sushi are making it's way to xmas shopping bags this year.  Making it one of the most sold product on tianges and gift stores, it is the "something soft" of the year. With this new twist, those towels will be staying under your xmas tree for years to come.

1. Planners - are one of the most common gifts during the holidays, it's either because we think that other people are too busy to manage their time or that they just need to manage it better. Planner became so common that some people actually get atleast 10 planners a year, what you gonna do with all of that? No one has a hectic schedule like that.

Good thing getting a planner for xmas is not so sad anymore, thanks to those coffee shops who offer collectible planners. They have made it fun and more special by making them harder to get. There are also some planners that you can buy at bookstores that looks cool and comes with very helpful guides that are customized depending on your lifestyle. Now that makes planning your year cool again.
